Hidden gem by the forest. Delicious home-cooked food

It was really surprising to stumble upon such an old yet beautifully maintained house by the woods. The room is small and cosy, yet there’s plenty of space outside for guests to relax in. The best part is the location, where one has the option of taking long guided walks or simply spending some quiet time in the monastery close by. The host, Mrs. Sangay, loves taking care of guests and makes some delicious food.

Simple, comfortable stay. Enjoy long walks in this quaint village

The home stay is located in the beautiful village of Darap and is very homely. The host, Radha, goes out of her way to ensure that the guests enjoy their stay. Their two kids and little pup, Suzy, make for excellent company. The rooms are minimalist and yet very thoughtfully done to suit a backpacker or a family’s needs. While here, you can enjoy long walks in the village which is extremely scenic.

Lovely decor, spacious rooms, comfortable stay

The home stay is so beautiful, it’s hard to not stay there once you’ve set eyes on it. I was pleasantly surprised by the attention given to details here. Done in Sikkimese art, the rooms have a local feel to them, yet are extremely modern, comfortable and spacious. There are balconies with large seating areas throughout the property, and there are plenty of places where you can sit down with a hot cup of tea and enjoy the great view.

Homestay located by lush forest

The home stay retreat is located by a lush forest in the outskirts of Ravangla. As I crossed the town and followed the small signboards to get here, I was already too thrilled by its out-of-bound location. The staff is extremely professional and hospitable and I spent a lot of time talking to them while they cooked me a delicious organic meal in the kitchen. The rooms are chic and spacious, and the seating by the window-wall that overlooks the forest is just perfect. For your evening tea, I would recommend the common terrace, located above the dining hall, that provides a lovely view.

Perfect place for a short trip

It was a great experience staying with Dr.Joseph and his family for 3 days.Very well organised rooms and well designed interiors. All the rooms are designed keeping in mind the point that families can be accommodated comfortably. The surrounding area is known for its sea food and scenic beauty of Kovalam beach. Perfect place to visit if planning for a short trip.

Warm host family and some lip-smacking home-cooked meals

This is a typical cosy Kashmiri home converted into a homestay. It is located within a walking distance from the serene Nageen lake.  All rooms are spacious & nicely maintained & all rooms have a great view. The host family is very friendly, supportive & very helpful in all ways. Mrs. Shakila is very jolly person with a great interest in art. She has many handmade arts, created by her, displayed in her home. And the best thing is that she personally cooks food for guests and trust me its yummy. A great experience to stay with a Kashmiri Family.

Good location, newly constructed.

This homestay is located on the main highway in Tabo. Tabo monastery is 10 mins walk away from the place. Newly started, its one of the best homestays in Tabo. The homestay has a spacious parking which is otherwise a problem in Tabo. Rooms are spacious & provided with all the facilities. The restaurant serves good, local food.

Lovely stay in heritage settings

This place is basically a renovated Kerala heritage home. The rooms have been redesigned and decorated considering the modern needs and the usual urban necessities. The best part is the little lawn in the backyard, its at its best during the winter. One more point to choose this stay is, its within the town and all the tourist attractions are within a 20 mins travel. Visiting Sri Krishna Udupi temple was also a good experience.

Excellent host and fabulous stay in Spiti

I stayed here for 2 days. This is perfect place to halt on a 1st day when you are entering Spiti from Manali side. Lovely homestay managed by a rider from Delhi. Although it is located in a village, you will get all the luxurious facilities, much better than any other homestay or guesthouse or hotel in whole Spiti valley. Rooms are spacious and have all the amenities you need here. Perfect place for riders as well as tourists to stay. The property has a beautiful dining area with a typical Spitian sit-out. Food is prepared in local style & trust me you wont get such an amazing homemade food anywhere in Spiti valley. Property owner, Sahil, also organises treks to the beautiful ChandraTal lake and can help you plan your Spiti itinerary well.
