I remember we used to live in Lonavala and our school was closed for three months during the rainy season because of the monsoon rains but there was never any floods>Lonavala was the highest from the sea level & all the water ran down the hills to the Khapoli in the valley from Khandala and at times the clouds would go through our house,those were the days,60 years ago.

    The Walwan Dam used to be full and the water channeled in ducts all the way up to Khandala and dropped it on the turbines in Khapoli in the valley.

    I did my s.s.c exams out of v.p.s high school in Lonavala.
